On September 18, Sustainable Innovations Europe (SIE) organized its first Circular Economy workshop in Brussels: Shaping the Europe of tomorrow. The session aimed at boosting European cooperation to promote Circular Economy research and innovation, and it counted with the participation of 30 organizations from 13 different countries.
During the workshop, the participants had the opportunity to present their projects, approaches and best practices, and to begin the development of new proposals with idea generation and technical concept notes.
Three of the projects introduced were NOVUM, led by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd, UrBIOFuture, introduced by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and EXCornSEED by Corporacion Tecnologica de Andalucia (CTA).
In addition to the presentations, there were several round tables which focused on the four pillars of the Circular Economy: climate action, environment, raw materials and resources efficiency.
