In the framework of the project, ICECHIM organized in Bucharest (Romania) on November 20th the “Valorization of proteins and bio-active compounds from biorefinery side-streams” conference and networking event with a more science focus, since first results from lab experiments in WP2 are ready.
The event was one of the biggest networking event and conference of the bio-based industry: a day organized to encourage ideas exchange and to find synergies among important projects in the bioeconomy sector, which gathered scientists and industry representatives active in this field to share their ideas.
Beside the possibility of networking, the event also focused on the recovery of proteins and several other bio-active compounds and the preparation of these as ingredients for food, specialty chemicals and cosmetics markets.
Among others, special guests of the event were Roxana Apreutesei from the Romanian Ministry of Education and Research and Anca Daniela Raiciu from Hofigal.
In this unique framework, the project partners had the chance to present not only the EXCornsEED projects and its achievement so far, but sharing ideas with other EU projects, stakeholders, and representatives from the bioeconomy sector and governmental institutions.
In particular, Innovation Engineering presented Databio, a project awarded as a BDV PPP success story that allows companies operating in the biobased industry to improve their performance in terms of efficiency and optimization of production processes with all the advantages of the bigdata technologies, and Corporacion Tecnologica de Andalucia presented the projects ICT-Biochain and UrBIOfuture, both of them funded by the BBI-JU.
